It was necessary to develop a design variant for the cover page of Russian educational portal edu.ru. The page should be grouped densely enough, with maximum information content, as it is done for web-portals.

The design was produced flexibly as possible: through the use of columns with equal width at the bottom part of the page, the set of information blocks for the cover page can be configured arbitrarily.

The only rigidly fixed blocks are “You teach” and “You study”, which we consider as an excellent solution both from the point of view of the information architecture and usability (one mouse click eliminates the information in which the particular user is not interested), and from the point of view of design (a large and clearly identified block is created in the top part of the page, making the design solution unique and impressing).

The logo has also been created – pseudo-three-dimensional letters "?" and "?" (“Rossiyskoe Obrazovaniye”) form a question mark because “education, apart from everything else, is finding answers to questions”.

A relatively long text of the site’s heading caused the choice of font with compact tracing.
