"ChemReactivSnab" (Chemicals Supply) Company is the leading supplier of chemicals and lab equipment in Russian and
neighboring countries. The site must serve as online store, allowing the Company to increase the sales volumes by
attracting Internet audience. The design was intended to highlight the authenticity of the Company's corporate identity,
developed in the spirit of Russian Futurist poster desing of 1920s-1930s.
The site was produced in December 2000. In the process of developing 5 versions of the site's user interface
were created in various design techniques and color schemes. Some of them are featured below.
The first sketch shows the user interface done in bookmark-style. The customer requested to diverge from the color
scheme of the corporate identity.
The second interface version is based on the application of large icons. The sketch is done in black-and-red spectrum,
the colors of corporate identity.
The final design is based on the Company's corporate style associated with works of Russian avant-gardists of 1930-s.
The site's page features red as headings color, blue - buttons color and gray as background.
Graphic elements
incorporate rotated rectangles and amputated corners. The same style is applied to buttons, menu base and page content.
The arc brings the user's attention to the site's main menu. The composition in top left corner is the part of the
Company's corporate style.
The whole product range is distributed into four sections: chemicals, lab glassware, lab equipment and lab
furniture.
Ordering process is divided into 3 stages: first, the needed products are marked off in price lists, then the
volume (quantity) of goods is determined. On the final stage, if the user is not registered, he or she goes
through the registration process, receives password and, by using it, confirms the order. "ChemReactivSnab" Sales
Department receives the e-mail containing the list and quantity of products bought together with the purchaser's
contact information.
The site was awarded first prize in the "Yagoda-2002" Regional Advertising Festival.
