The task was to develop the cover page for the server of Educational Programs of Bashkortostan Republic. The project was created on the basis of the Internet Center established by the initiative of Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation) in Bashkir State University. Therefore, the design should reflect the relation of the site to the definite region and information technologies.

The site contains large volumes of heterogeneous information, grouped into two main sections: "Information about the Republic" and "Information about the University". Therefore, we decided not to place the information content on the cover page and resort to visual symbols to introduce the main idea of the resource to the user. The left part of the page is the link to the section "About the Republic". As visuals we chose the sculpture combination of the base of National Emblem and the oil derrick, signifying the main trend in the local industry. The right side, leading to the section "About the University", is made up by the photo of a personal computer and the University building. The center of the page features the site logo, created by us, displaying the name of the site’s domain - www.bashedu.ru.
